Sthayi: 
            It is the first part of the song. It is basically comprises two to three lines. This part of song repeated after every stanza called sthayi or mukhra. 


Antara: 
                 The second part of the song is called antara. It is introduced after sthayi; it tends to perform in upper scale.


Taan:   
              A taan is rapid melodic vocal technique in raag singing. Its target to expand, weaving together the notes in a first tempo.


Alankar:    
               Alankar are combination of the notes of raag. it is also called palta. There are variations of alanker. Meend, andolan, gamak, khatka, murki,.


Aalaap 
             Alaap is the opening section of a typical classical performance. Aalaap actually sets the mood of the raag and is unaccompanied by any instrument except the drone.
